Ashley is also a musician. She spent a few years taking up voice lessons when she was little. She took up piano lessons for a year when she was 7, however the guitar proved to be her passion which she discovered and learned on her own at the age of 13. As she entered high school, she formed a number of bands with her friends and schoolmates. One of her former bands, The Bestidas, had won first place awards from different battle of the bands events such as Schoolture Shock, Urband Battle, and Summer Scream Showdown, all in 2007. Another one of her bands, Yes Ma’am (then named Hymn of Siren) was one of the 13 finalists out of the 300 that auditioned during the Nescafe Soundskool 2007 Battle of The Best College Bands, a nationwide competition. Right now, she sings and plays rhythm guitars for a band called Midnight Meetings, who have released their acoustic EP in May 2013. Their 2 music videos for “Pwede Ba” and “Sana Dalawa ang Puso Ko” have both stayed at the Pinoy Myx Countdown for several weeks. The band is currently working on their debut album to be released this year. Aside from being in bands, Ashley also writes and records her own songs. She has done collaborations with other top OPM artists such as Silent Sanctuary for the song “Meron Nang Iba”, and Dello for “Minsan”.
